Vol. 16 No. 1

I often meet people today
who think that they may practice a vital faith while remaining separated from
any regular association with other believers.
The New Testament rather
vigorously begs to differ with them.
For example, we read in
the Book of Hebrews: “Let us not give
up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us
encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25*
Or the Apostle John: “We
proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship
with us.” I John 1:3a
Or our Lord Jesus Christ in his prayer to
his Heavenly Father: “I in them
and you in me. May they be brought to
complete unity.” John 17:23a
Clearly our Lord intends us to gather with his people… for
personal encouragement... and to
strengthen our faith... and to serve others in the fellowship.
Are you active in the life of a Christian fellowship?
If not there is no better time than that beginning of a New Year
to re-engage the fellowship.
“As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't
need you!" And the head cannot say
to the feet, "I don't need you!"
I Corinthians 12:20-21
You need the Body of Christ and the Body needs you!
